Just about everyone knows the story of the Golden Calf.
In short: While Moses was up on Mount Sinai getting the Law of The Land dictated to him from the horse's mouth (so-to-speak) the Israelites got antsy and started doing the Macarena all around this very flashy but substanceless cow. All the time they had the Real Deal in a tete-a-tete with their leader, but they chose instead to cling to a fake that looked better to them from their faulty perspective.
Which, strangely enough, prophesied the 2008 Vice Presidential choice of John McCain.
Okay, not really but the analogy is striking.
Lefty feminists who claim that you can do it all, go it alone and don't need a man, have idolized the likes of Gloria Steinem who proved herself proficient at going it alone as long as she could bed a rich man to bail out her bitter and unpopular feminist rag magazine. Well, going it alone wouldn't be the right term either now would it? Oh well, oddly she is still the Queen Bee of modern women's liberation. Following in her footsteps, the most recent feminist bombshell has rocked the world with her astonishing ability to ride her husband's coattails into a law practice, the White House (as First Lady), and the Senate.
I am speaking of course, of Hillary Clinton: She-who-almost-but-not-quite-shattered-the-glass-ceiling. It seems Bill's coattails could only take her so far, or maybe he left them at some intern's house and they were unavailable, you never know.
While the elite dictators of feminist dogma, also known amongst themselves as 'Real Women' were doing their tribal earth mother dance around a woman who never accomplished anything out of the ordinary without her husband's power, revering her as the symbol of the downfall of the oppressive misogynistic patriarchy, John McCain was chatting with the Real Deal up in Mount Alaska.
Thing is, they couldn't stand the Real Deal when they saw it. Here is a woman who never has to stand by a man to get where she is. A woman who truly has it all: Much loved children, a supportive husband, a fabulous career and deep convictions; they hate her with a vitriol that is nearly inexplicable.
Nearly. It should be clear by now that the parting of ways comes at the 'Deep Convictions' part. Sarah Palin believes in the inherent worth of all human life and inconsequential abortion on demand is apparently the most important tenet of 'Real Women'. I think that those 'Real Women' would be shocked to know how many of us there are who are 'traitors', believing that life is precious and not to be lightly taken. How many of us maybe don't consider the right to chop the limbs off of a child who was just sucking her thumb in her mother's womb to be at the top of our list of 'inalienables'.
It should come as no surprise that the Lefty Feminists will choose the Golden Calf because they share yet another trait with the lapsed Israelites:
16And they [the Israelites] forsook all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made for themselves molten images of two calves; and they made an Asherah, and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
17And they burned their sons and their daughters as offerings, and used divination and sorcery, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger.
